About Me

I have been working with words for more than 14 years and going strong. This year marks four years of working full-time as a freelance editor and writer, and I am excited to embark on another year of crafting copy and creating content. I am a writer and copy editor for trade and consumer publications, print and web outlets, on a freelance or contract basis. Experienced in long form features and shorter blog post style articles, I have worked on interviews, event coverage, business profiles, community spotlights, fact-checking and other forms of narrative and creative writing. An expert generalist and a cognitive thinker, I am comfortable covering diverse subject areas and have worked on multiple beats including but not limited to travel and hospitality, food and dining, small business and entrepreneurs, social good and non-profits, going green and healthy living. I enjoy networking with the editorial staff at different publications. I also work with corporate and individual clients as well as custom content companies writing content and assisting with related requirements like proofreading, blogging, ghostwriting, e-newsletters, website copy, social media, editorial calendars, annual reports, presentations, covering conferences and more. I am an active member of the Society for Professional Journalists - I was previously interim board member with the Georgia Pro chapter, serving the role of treasurer. I have previously been a member of Atlanta Independent Women's Network, contributing to the marketing committee handling social media, and the Atlanta Press Club, where I was a finalist for the Atlanta Press Club Award of Excellence in print journalism in 2012. I have now moved to Los Angeles, Calif. and seek new opportunities and connections in the local media and publishing industry.
