Journalist, copywriter and editor

About Me

I’m a creative and versatile multi-platform journalist, commercial copywriter, editor, commissioning editor and content strategist. Working also as a stylist, I’m programmed to see things visually on the page and screen too. I have 20 years’ experience writing on a broad range of subjects for national and international newspapers, consumer magazines, trade titles, blogs, websites, social media, and marketing across consumer and business sectors. I also produce copy for brands. I’ve been a spokesperson on radio and TV and been involved in video production. I’m an expert at overseeing, researching and planning projects; budgeting; managing staff and workflow; product testing; identifying news; concise commissioning; fact-checking; editing copy to style; pitching; and, writing engaging, inspiring and shareable stories that are commissioned in various guises, often for multiple markets. I put as much thought into a Tweet or Instagram post as I do into long-form features and quickly find my way around content management systems. I extract relevant data from surveys, web analytics and databases to optimise content for SEO; and, in the commercial space, overlook facts that would be included in a pure editorial story.
