Freelance writer specializing in website/social copy, retail practices and marketing strategy

About Me

A freelance writer specializing in website/social copy, retail practices and marketing strategy, I use my experience growing up in a small, family-owned business to create engaging, colorful content. St. Bonaventure University's Jandoli School of Journalism & Mass Communications honed my writing from jumbled mess to crisp and compelling. A Masters in Integrated Marketing & Communication (also from St. Bona) complemented my writing with an arsenal of marketing knowledge.

Currently, I run day-to-day operations at my family's snowboard shop -- The Boardroom -- and run the social accounts for our local ski resort, Holiday Valley. Working in retail and resort has allowed me to try new marketing techniques, write a myriad of social copy, and help develop SEO-friendly web copy. I have also worked with local businesses to assist in copywriting, and write for our small, monthly newsletter.

Website Copy

A local collaborative marketing effort between five individuals all talented in their own fields, PandaGoat Media combines copywriting, web development, graphic design, videography and photography into a one-stop shop for local businesses. As the copywriter, I was tasked with writing the copy for the site.

Website Copy

A local wedding and event planner tasked me with creating rich, SEO-friendly copy for her new website. Wanting to speak to future brides, corporate planners and others in need of events, I wrote copy that spoke directly to the consumer -- keeping a consistent voice throughout.

Press Release

My sister and her in-laws asked me to write a press release for their new wedding and event center. The Annex, a brand-new facility located in Chaffee, NY, was a newsworthy addition to the area because of family connections, an old restaurant and a 300+ person capacity. After writing the release, I curated a list of prominent local media members and wrote a template email for my sister to use.

Social Post Copy

I've spent the last few years crafting SMO-friendly social copy for our local ski resort. As one of the premier resorts on the east coast, Holiday Valley combines skiing with golf, corporate conferences, weddings and much more.
